1.Organic Strawberry Season in Florida. My little one has been waiting patiently (as much as a three-year-old can wait when it comes to this juicy red fruit) for the strawberries to come in season. We are very lucky to have such a yummy, local crop.
2. The anticipation of baby-wearing (again). We are eagerly, but patiently, awaiting our new arrival next month. I have these two carriers to make, the maya sling, and a mei tai, but I kind of want one of these too!
3. Finishing up the Language album for my Montessori 3-6 certification. These four albums have spanned more than a year and a half, but I can see the end is near. Relief and excitement mark my days as this is one less item I will have to concern myself with during those new baby-gazing days.
4. The excitement of being outdoors – all the time – during this time of year. Whether it’s playing in the sand, or going for a nature walk, we are enjoying our last few weeks of mild weather.
5. Sewing inspiration. The sewing fairies have been remarkably absent these past two months, but their influence has returned full force this past weekend. The allure of matching pajama pants for my boy and his baby brother was just too much. Plus, Easter is just around the corner and there are some handmade gifts that need to be completed.
6. Etsy, and the most amazing handmade items. These slippers are on my list. They take me to my childhood, when my piano teacher made each of her students a pair of knitted slippers. I loved mine and wore them for many years. It was a sad, sad day when I finally grew out of them (long after I grew out of the piano lessons).
7. The sense of wonder that drives my child to find bugs and collect sticks. It is through this natural desire that my excitement has been rekindled. I love looking at the world with new eyes. (And, boy am I glad it was a ladybug!)
8. Finding some kindred spirits in our schooling journey.
9. Enjoying new (old) books and new (old) ideas. We have been bringing so much creativity into our home lately and it is reflected in our light-hearted moods. Whether it is painting or knitting or family drawing time, our minds (and hands and hearts) have enjoyed the new experiences
10. The realization that coming up with a list of ten things to love isn’t as difficult as it used to be. Now, the hard part is narrowing my loves to only ten.
